Another fun & busy weekend!

Friday my mom and I took the kids to the splash park for the first time this year. The water was cold, but the kids had a great time.

Madison had fun just playing with buckets
of water with her friend Breanna.

Macy snoozing away. I didn't even bother
putting her swimsuit on because it was too cold.

Saturday morning was not much fun. We discovered a leak in our basement and garage about 2 weeks ago. We thought it was the same roof leak we had about 2 years ago. We finally discovered it was coming from a pipe behind the shower. Our friend Matt is a plumber and has come over 3 times now to help us with the leak. He cut out part of the shower to try to fix the leak, but realized it's going to be a bigger project than he originally anticipated. We're probably going to end up having to put in a whole new shower after he gets the pipe fixed. Every time we think we're getting ahead, something like this happens, and it just sets us behind again. Oh the joys of home ownership!

Saturday night the 4 of us went to the Santa Lucia Festival down at Louis & Clark Landing. Lemon Fresh Day (the same band we saw last week) was playing there, and Madison wanted to dance. She was in a weird mood and wouldn't dance by herself. She finally talked Daddy into getting out there with her. I was so proud of him for not caring what the 500 people that were standing around thought and getting out there and dancing with his daughter. What an awesome Daddy!

Dancing away!

On Sunday I had to babysit for the kids I nanny for so Cory came with me, and we took all the kids to the pool on the golf course. Cory played in the big pool with Emma, while I hung out in the baby pool with Ethan and Madison. Macy slept most of the time.

Later in the day we took all of the kids to Elmwood Park for the Omaha Library Summer Reading Program kick off. There were lots of mascots for them to see, animals to hold, and other activities to do.

3 Months Old!

It's amazing how quickly time flies. My little baby is 3 months old already. Part of me feels like it was just yesterday that I had her, but another part of me feels like it's been a year. I think I've tried getting the NICU experience out of my head, so that part of it seems like forever ago. It sounds so cliche, but I don't remember our lives and our family without Macy, even though it was only 3 short months ago that we became a family of 4. Oh how I love my little family!

Cute, drooly smile for Mommy!

Just chillin'

Look how big I am!

Big sister loves to give kisses!

While I was taking pictures of Macy, Cory complained that I never put
pictures of him on my blog. Well, here you go hun. Madison and Daddy

Big Weekend!

We had a big weekend and a lot of fun!

Friday was Madison's carnival at school. It really was bittersweet since she won't be returning to Stonebridge in the fall. She had to say goodbye to all of her friends and teachers. She had a blast at the carnival though. She got her face painted, played games, and jumped in the bounce house.

Macy was less than enthused!

Saturday night we went out to Village Point to listen to a band. They were fabulous! Madison stood in front of the stage and danced her heart out with a bunch of other kids. She was hilarious!

Sunday we took the kids to the Royals game. Madison had a good time, but was afraid of the mascots and the clowns that were there for family fun day. This was Macy's first sporting event (shocking that her first sporting event wasn't hockey), and she slept through most of it.

After the game Sunday our friends, John and Lisa, came over with their kids. Madison, Jacob, and Layla had a great time swimming and playing in the Elmo sprinkler.

What a fun 3-day weekend! We need more of these!

Graduation Day!

Tonight was Madison's preschool graduation. Yes I know, she's only 2, and she's not technically graduating from preschool, but she is leaving Stonebridge. Her school does a whole graduation ceremony and program for the kids who are moving on to kindergarten next year, and they involve the 2 and 3 year olds as well. Grandma, Mommy, Daddy, and Macy were there to cheer her on. It really was a fun evening, and it is one thing I'll miss about not sending her to Stonebridge for the next couple of years. The Gingerbread House, where she'll go next year, does not do any sort of graduation program.

Getting ready for the night! She LOVES the hairspray!

Front and center singing with her class!

The whole school on stage singing together. Madison
is way on the right. Notice the graduates in their
caps and gowns. Too cute!

It's Delicious!

Madison was eating a cookie last night and was hilarious! Obviously she picks up on the vocabulary that we use.

Big sister strikes again!

Last night Cory and I were outside grilling, and Madison had just gone inside. Macy was laying on the couch, and when I peeked my head inside to check on Madison I see my sweet little baby getting her eyeball poked out by her naughty big sister. Yes, Madison was standing there jabbing her in the eye with her finger. Macy and I started screaming at the same time. Her - because her eye obviously hurt, Me - because I was so angry with my 2-year-old. I could not believe Madison had done that. Why why why? Macy's eye was red and swollen for a couple of hours, but she was back to normal later in the night. Needless to say Madison got a much deserved time-out and then had to apologize to and kiss her sister. I obviously need to start separating these 2 a little better.

Swimming!

For the last couple of weeks, I've been taking the kids to the Kids Body Shop in Papillion on Thursdays. It's a great little pool that is usually kept at 93 degrees. The kids love it, and I think I might actually sign Madison up for swimming lessons and gymnastics there. Macy has slept through the last 3 times we were there, but today she woke up so I thought I should put her swimsuit on her and let her try it out. She loves the bath, and this is pretty much like taking a bath in chlorinated water so I knew she'd love it. She was so relaxed when I held her in the water. Madison got a big kick out of her little sister "swimming". What fun! I can't wait for summer days at the pool. I have a feeling Macy will be a fish like her mommy and sister!

Smiles!

As a mom, milestones in my childrens' lives are so important to me. The first big milestone I've been impatiently waiting for with Macy is her first smile. Well, it finally happened a few days ago. I wasn't able to catch the first one on camera, but I did get a few subsequent ones. She has even started laughing, but I haven't caught a video of that yet. The smiles and laughs just melt my heart and remind me how much she's growing up already. She has become a lot more interactive over the last week or so, and it's bittersweet. On one hand, I can't wait for all of these exciting milestones, but on the other hand, since this is our last child I want to hold onto my baby forever.

CHEESE!

She was swinging so I kind of cut her head off, but this grin is too cute!

I earned myself "Mom of the Year" award yesterday

I'm almost embarrassed to tell people this, but since nothing serious came of it I suppose it's safe to share. Yesterday morning I had just fed Macy. She was laying peacefully on her Boppy pillow on the couch. Madison was also on the couch totally engrossed in Sesame Street or some other equally repetitive and annoying kid's show. I decided to get on the laptop and start finding giveaways to enter into from my friend's blog. This quickly became an extremely addicting habit. I heard Macy coughing (no big deal, she has a little cold). After about 10 minutes I walked back into the living room to find something I never thought I'd see. My sweet little baby looked like a Hershey's bar had attacked her. As I walked (almost ran) closer I realized what had gone on while I was feeding my new addiction. Madison was eating some Honey Nut Cheerios and some other chocolate cereal and decided it would be a good idea to share with her baby sister. Who can fault her for sharing so nicely, right? I was honestly too scared about Macy being sick to even get mad at Madison. Reluctantly (because I was embarrassed that I wasn't watching my children) I called the pediatrician's office to see if there was anything I should be doing for Macy or anything I needed to watch for. When the nurse called me back she laughed hysterically (not really that funny for me at the time, lady) and said just to watch to make sure Macy didn't still have something in her throat that would cause her to choke. She ended up being fine, and Madison and I had to have ANOTHER chat about her sister only being able to have milk right now since she doesn't have any teeth. I'm watching my mailbox for my "Mom of the Year" award to arrive, but now I don't think that's going to happen.

I finally joined the blogging world!

I've always thought about starting a blog, but I've never taken the leap until now. My dad keeps bugging me to start one so that he can keep up with us and the girls. Yes, I'll be adding pictures just for you, dad. I also have some friends that blog, and they absolutely love it and have really benefited a lot from it. So here I am!
